Fair Trade Scotland and Fairmail Cards announce partnership in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic

“The COVID-19 crisis represents a unique historical moment for us to practice solidarity in our day-to-day activities and create the world we want to live in. Now too is the time to make strong demands that our communities receive the resources they need to thrive beyond this crisis and move collectively toward the more fair, just world we want to see.”

Fair Trade Scotland is happy to announce its partnership with FairMail Cards, a social enterprise based in Peru that produces Guaranteed Fair Trade greeting cards with pictures taken by a group of teenage photographers that come from very critical backgrounds.

The photographers receive 60% of the profit and they invest it in their 3 funds: education, support to families and clothing.

We are particularly proud of this collaboration because both Fair Trade Scotland and FairMail are WFTO members, which is a consumer guarantee that the two companies are committed to the 10 WFTO Fair Trade Principles and Product Label.

We are now looking for independent shops and corporations who would like to stock these beautiful cards – there will be countertop display units or standalone units and help young, talented people in Peru.

To face this unprecedented crisis, FairMail is releasing emergency food funds for the photographers and their direct family members.

By buying FairMail cards you are offering a unique product with a great added value, but most importantly, you are impacting the future of our photographers by giving them the opportunity to receive an education and break the chain of poverty that holds them back.
